What’s new
What each version of Kai Muay brings.
Version 1.5 · October 2026
Choose your Kru. Kru Mali or Kru Chai: the one you pick teaches you every technique in the videos. Change it whenever you like in Settings.
Your one-two, in full. Throw the jab and the cross back to back and both count now.
No more losing a class by accident. Before you skip a called round, the app warns you that the class won’t count that day.
Version 1.4 · October 2026
The Base starts with strikes. The first class is now the stance, the jab and the cross, with called rounds from day one. The second, footwork and the low kick; the third, the bounce, the pivot and the hook, which moves from Beginner into the Base. The classes you had already passed stay passed.
The Base, free again. For everyone, with the timer, jump rope, freestyle and the after-class stretches. The full Path, with a subscription or a one-time purchase.
No bag? You can still train. If you say you have no bag, you do the Path as shadowboxing: the same classes, the voice calls the strikes and you throw them in the air. They count as done, with no grade, on their own Path. You change it in Settings, or at the setup with “I don’t have a bag”.
The whole combo. At the start of every minute, the voice says the full combo before calling the strikes.
Two hits on the bag, in the timer too. They skip the get-ready and the rests, like in a class.
Version 1.3 · October 2026
A welcome that shows you everything. When you install, the whole Path, with its 32 classes and 136 combos, and everything you can do on your own.
Three days free. If you install Kai Muay from this version on, you can try everything for three days with the yearly plan, and look around the whole app before you pay. If you already had it, what was free stays free.
A reminder for your first class. If you haven’t done your first class yet, the app reminds you at your time, twice at most.
Usage statistics. How far into the class people get and, if a payment fails, why. The privacy policy explains it.
Version 1.2 · October 2026
Two hits on the bag. With gloves on you can’t touch the screen: two hits on the bag start the round, or end the rest. And while setting up, once the phone has been still on the bag for a few seconds, two hits count as IN PLACE.
Your first time on the bag. The first class ends with three minutes on the bag to test the setup, with your strikes counted. The app reminds you about the tape before you need it and, if you don’t have any, tells you what to use instead. And if the phone can’t feel your strikes, it says so after 30 seconds and explains what to do at the end.
What it tells you after class. One clear sentence with your score and, if one technique landed less, which one. When you pass a class, the combos you unlocked, with a link to the library.
No bag today. From the home screen: jump rope, stretching or shadowboxing with the timer.
Your class. The full class now ends with stretching. You choose the reminder time, and reminders no longer count the days you haven’t trained.
Anonymous usage statistics. To learn which parts of the app help and where people get stuck. You can turn them off in Settings; the privacy policy explains them.
Version 1.1 · October 2026
Advanced and Defense. Seventeen new classes on the Path, with the subscription. Advanced, in seven: high kick, vertical elbow, high switch kick, inside low kick, teep to the face, spinning elbow and spinning backfist. Defense, in ten: each defense with the attack it stops and how to counter, on video with two fighters.
Flexibility. Three stretching routines for legs, hips and back, with their video and their clock. After class or on their own, from the home screen. “After class” is free; the other two come with the subscription.
Your class. The class, your way: the warm-up and the circuit, with your own exercises; how many rounds and how much rest; the minutes of jump rope and shadowboxing; and the blocks you’d rather skip today.
A new home screen. Your Path at a glance, your striking repertoire and the classes you still have to pass, one tap away. And START starts: the class’s technique cards in a row, then train.
Jump rope. Your record when you finish, a heads-up when you beat it mid-session, and a chart of your best sets in Progress.
Portuguese and French. Kai Muay now speaks four languages: Spanish, English, Portuguese and French.
Easier to use. With the largest text size, with a screen reader, on tablets and in landscape. And a smaller install: each level’s videos download the first time you open it.
Version 1.0 · October 2026
The first one. The Path of the Nak Muay with the Base level free, and Beginner and Intermediate with the subscription: full classes called out by voice, with technique, warm-up, jump rope, shadowboxing, bag work and conditioning. The phone, mounted on the bag, counts and measures every strike. And for the other days, the timer, the jump rope counter, freestyle and your history, all free and with no ads.
